splenters, butts

Page

there aren’t women anymore
the old wooden porch swing just sits empty

but can you remember:
  her green yard
and within the oven there is a ham
the couch … … in front of the open breezy window

  nice carpet
the kids are showing up, sitting in the backseats
      do you like baked ham
  the house is never locked
  the first sound is heeyyyyyy
  kids are crazy like healthy
  the air is air

  1. “the air is air”–like everything else in the memory–this is/was the real thing–genuine–the “hey” greeting sincere. O what a wonderful sort of actual experience to have as a memory.
–even though there aren’t any moore women–there ‘could be’ again because there once was–and someone knows how such things ought to ‘go/be’.
