turning off the zigenbaron was a lot tougher than the workers had readied themselves for. obviously they ate steak last night and pasta for the ready, but whoa unto me: the zigenbaron is no joke. Chad broke his spine in duty, and Johan a foot. Big Al quit halfway through citing his obligations to Christy; and the foreman called in backups. The Union said ‘enough’.

The men walked away in the evening, patting backs even though many were quitters, but they were part of the group.
